Hi,
I have the original Norcold DE451 fridge on my flybridge in the wetbar. It is no longer cooling as well as it used to and has to be kept near 5 to keep items cold and is draw on the battery. As such, I'm considering replacing it.
I'm wondering if anyone has done this and, if so, did you install the Norcold NR740 http://thenorcoldguy.com/norcold-nr751bb-nr751ss-for-sale/http://thenorcoldguy.com/norcold-nr751bb-nr751ss-for-sale/ (which I understand is the current equivalent Norcold model). If so, any issues with installation or does it just slide in? Are you happy with performance?
At CAD$1100 - $1500 (depending on black or stainless) it seems like an expensive solution. As such, I'm also wondering if I should consider removing the existing fridge and taking it into an appliance shop to see if they can fix. I asked Norcold if they thought it could be fixed and their answer was given the fridges age I'd probably be better off to replace.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
