    32xx salon headliner removal-gctid815610

Hi - Can someone give me a clue as to how the vinyl panels are attached and how to remove without destroying them? I want to possibly change the upper helm seating and need to bolt thru the floor but not thru the headliner in salon.

    Thanks Terry

You are probably better off using a toggle type like this.

I used them to bolt down my toilet on my last boat and they were still working well after 8-9 years that included removing the base for maintenance. It was a par electric. Rough duty indeed.

the way it was installed you will not be able to RR IT. the fabric was trimmed short after it was stappled

very common way to install a headliner in a boat, most mfg did it this way.

How are the panels kept up? I cannot see any screws or fasteners to hold te panels in place, what is the liner stapled to?

There is a post on this if you search the forum. I believe you would you start aft and remove that teak strip. Underneath you'll find hundreds of staples to remove. Looks like the port and sb valance trim needs to be removed as well with I assume more staples. You should be able to remove the screws holding the batts at each fold. If your headliner is in good condition, I wouldn't disturb it.
