Hi all I just installed new lock for sliding door. The bigger issue I am having is the operation of the sliding door. The weight of the dinghy above has pushed the door jam out. After talking with John at Banana belt boats. I seen he installed a cable with turn buckle. Took it down into the engine room. That helped him pull in the cockpit wall in. I did the same thing. But door still rubs a lot. There is a wear patch mid span on the door. Lock is tuff to lock. When dinghy is in water. Door fly's open. PO moved the track at base of door out to help door move better. Now nothing is working correctly. Thinking of second cable? Any ideas.

"Any ideas"
The dinghy should not be deforming the bridge deck and affecting the door. We used a cradle for the dinghy that spread out the load both fore/aft and pt/stb rather than having any single point loaded highly.
Additionally - carrying the weight as far forward as possible on the boat deck will also help.

Yup we have 4 point for dinghy. Forward to where you can barley get around bow. I know its under 750lbs. Talked with mechanic who has seen many 4788. He seen the cable idea as well as metal carried all the way up to upper deck. So I just figured it was a common problem. I am just lucky that way.

Thinking of putting two SS post in the cockpit. Seen it on another 95. His problem went away. There isn't much to help support upper deck from below. The wall will flex a bit. I can push it in with no load on it. That is the difference with it rubbing or not. Ill keep you all posted.
