How to watch TV and Movies in the Stateroom-gctid814961

I installed an IPad mount down stairs in the stateroom. I recommend this set up to your boat as I really enjoy it so wanted to share how I did it..We can now watch TV with the DirecTV App, Netflix, Etc. I found a great mounting system that has a very easy release system for installing and removing the IPad. It is also very easy to adjust the viewing angle. It is made by RAM Mount and it is called an X Grip. The fiberglass that I mounted it to is a little flimsy and hollow between the wall and the dinning area. Because of this and me wanted to reduce the load on the 4 mounting screws I installed a sheet of clear acrylic on each side to act as a backing plate. I drilled holes and installed Nuts and Bolts with oversize washers to further displace the load. I am sure it was overkill but would rather not have to worry.

What size iPad is that? Did you buy that mount directly from RAM?

I use Ram Mounts for a 10" tablet at the helm and a 24" TV in the cockpit. Good products.

I have an iPad 6. I purchased it on Amazon RAM-B-101-C-UN9U ram flat surface mount with universal X-Grip III holder for large tablets.

I also bought on amazon RAM mount composite short double socket arm for 1-inch ball bases. This way I could have have it mounted on a short arm.
