    4788 6bta transmission coolers-gctid814228

Does anyone have any information regarding live expectancy of the transmission cooler on a 6bta that has lived in saltwater?

You can have it cleaned and checked out. I did that with all my coolers.

8-10 years, if it fails internally you will have a mess.

I replaced mine with ones from Seaboard Marine in CA (you should really get to know them as they are a very valuable source for parts/information). They have zincs in them too so make sure they get replaced regularly too. I can't remember how much they were (less than a boat buck) so it was worth the peace of mind to me.
