  • 4788 cockpit courtesy light cover

Any suggestions where to order these courtesy lightcovers? We went to Fisheries in Seattle today & they do not carry.

Mine were all cracked and discolored. Wound up replacing all of the fixtures. These are drop-in replacements although it is a bit difficult to get the old fixtures out as they used a *lot* of caulking (at least on my boat).

They come with incandescent bulbs but you can replace them with single LED's bulbs. I sourced mine from a vendor in China. $6.38 for 20 bulbs.

Are these the lights you are referring to? I bought mine on Ebay and they are a nice update/upgrade as the old ones with the fading bezels looked old! Take a sharp razor and get it under the bezel to cut the sealant (a lot!) they used when they installed them...then gently pry them out. Once out don't lose the wiring back through the hole (as me how I know that..LOL). Easy wiring job and install and new LED's are brighter and more modern.

Derek your lights do not look the same as Evan's. Yours are LED his are incadescent.

Do you have an Ebay link?

        Thanks,

I’m not at our boat and want to order some new cockpit lights. I can visualize 4. How many of these fixtures are there in the cockpit?

There are 4. I ordered the replacement fixtures from the etrailer.com link above and installed with no problem. The fixture comes with an incandescent bulb but you can order LED replacements online from a multitude of sources.

Where are they located? None of mine work. I believe 2 are in the arch behind the semi transparent oval panel? Not sure where the other 2 would be.

On my 3788 there is one on flybridge, 2 in cockpit, one in companion way, one in stairwell to births and one under the aft edge of the master stateroom birth.

A guest managed to break one of the lenses for one of the cockpit courtesy lights (4788) and I figure now's a good time to put all new ones in. The link above to etrailer is broken, does anyone have a different source for these?

Chiming in here since all the old links in this thread are broken, just like most of our cockpit courtesy lights.

Does anyone have a good source for attractive replacements for the 4788 cockpit step lighting?

              Cheers,

I recently saw an old post by drewhaas who knows a guy who can 3D print lenses. I sent him a PM several days ago but haven't heard anything back. Please keep us posted if you come across a suitable replacement fixture.

I have four sets of 4 lenses. They are $15/set plus postage. If you’re interested email me at [email protected] with your cell# and zip code. I’ll text you from the post office with the cost and send them after funds are sent by Zelle preferably.

This is what I bought from eTrailer back in July 2020, wish I'd bought more, will have to source them again as one in primary stateroom has failed.

Got an answer from Optronics, not good.

Hello – Thank you for contacting us. We no longer manufacture or stock that style of courtesy light. You might find something of a similar size on our website, but there is no direct substitution. I recommend etrailer.com for sourcing Optronics lighting that may work for this application. I’m sorry I couldn’t resolve your issue.

                      Best regards,
