    Sad/Happy Day: Sold my 3870-gctid807513

    Today I sold "SomeDay," my 1987 3870.

She is going to a very knowledgeable owner who seems very enthusiastic about maintaining her in top shape. So I'm happy that she's going to someone that will take care of her.

Here's a video tour I did just as I put her up for sale.

Sold in under one week, so I suppose that's a bit of a compliment.

And the boat trader ad for some photos: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...870-103042585/

I still own the 32 foot Bayliner in Alaska, but I'll miss this one for sure.

But! Now I can start searching for a new Florida boat! (It's like a disease . . . right? LOL).

    Cheers,

    Dave

My Alaska boat is in Cordova.

Winter in Fl and Summer in Ak is the best. As my Dad says: The geese had this whole thing figured out a long time ago!

As the proud new owners, we are looking forward to bringing her back to 100%, making her fishable, and keeping her in the northern keys. We haven't had a boat with 2 state rooms in 7-8 years and are looking forward to multi-day trips and offshore fishing!!!! Thank you so much for all the detailed information about the boat and for the easy transaction- hope we get to meet one day in CC. Kindest Regards- Steven

Very nice! Congrats to you both.

So, tell me about the flooring in the salon...where did you find flooring that matches the flooring in the galley?

                Cheers,

                Dave

The previous owner had that done at a boatyard.

Will Dave get a new boat?

                    The OUIJI Board says yes.

Absolutely! It's a question of "when" not "if."

My parents just purchased an absolutely pristine 2002 3988 that I can use in FL whenever we want, so that provides a bit of "methadone" for the boat ownership "heroin" addiction. So, it may be a couple of years before I buy the new one for Florida.

I've always wanted a 4788, but lately I've been looking at Carvers, so I may go that route. Going to take my time. I've got two years before the daughter graduates and heads to college, then the wife and I are selling the FL house and moving onto a boat in the Winter.

                      Cheers,

                      Dave

Dave this is a direct link to seldovia harbor. been to Cordova many times in the Bonanza never in a boat. We are thinking a 32 Gemni cat sail for a Florida boat.
