Thinking about replacing the carpet in my 88 3270 with the teak and holly plywood that is under the table and on the galley floor. Anyone know a source for it?
When I was looking into flooring I came up with two sources for 1/4" teak and holly plywood. One year my local Home Depot thru the special order desk. It was about $225 per sheet as I recall. The other source was a local hard wood company called McBeath (may not have spelling correct). The cost was a touch more but they stocked it.
We ended up going with Lonseal. We are very happy with the results but it was a lot of work! If I was doing it over, I think I would use 1/4" planking of a solid wood using epoxy and finish nails to secure it. This would make the install easier not having to line up all the teak and holly lines. That was very tedious. I would still trim the hatches in teak like we did. I would then finish the whole floor in a satin that has a bit of a non skid texture.
