    1987 3270 MY port engine rotation-gctid806228

    Hello all,

I need to replace my port engine due to water lock damage and need to determine if it is std rotation or lh rotation. Does anyone out there know? There is a sticker on the motor mount that says "LH rotation" but I don't know if that means the engine or the tranny.

    I appreciate your help.

On my 38, the Hino's are both the same rotation, clockwise when viewed from the front of the engine. Only the Hurth transmissions reverse rotation for the shafts. Port transmission output shaft rotates counterclockwise viewed from the aft end when in forward gear, starboard transmission output shaft rotates clockwise viewed from the aft end when in forward gear.

Without knowing which engines or transmissions you have on your 32 we can't say for sure as it could be a different set up..

Yep, rotation is the same regardless of diesel or gas. The gear runs in reverse for the counter rotation side.

Yes I agree. I found the motor sticker on the valve cover and it says 305K which means right hand rotation. 305KL is left hand.

        Thanks
