    1986 3870 Hino Tach issues-gctid806091

The Starboard tachometers on upper and lower helm do not read correctly. They bounce and read above actual RPM. Where does the tach get its signal from the Hino EH 700 series?

Tach sender is on front of engine, and it is driven by plastic stick/rod. My guess is that you have a lose connection, broken stick/rod or bad sender.

Sender look like this items 7 from link below

The first thing I'd do is swap the connectors from the good tachs to the bad ones. They are three pronged connectors that just pull off/push on. Let's positively identify the issue is the tacks or the drive.
