    4588 New Stainless Ceramic Risers-gctid394820

After 11 years our cast iron elbows/risers have served there time. So after much thought I went with with Stainless Steel Risers that are Ceramic Coated from Dave at Greenwater Marine Exhaust www.greenwatermarineexhaust.com,. He shipped on time and was very professional to deal with. Best of all he sent all the right studs, nuts, gastkets and even told us the right hose to get form the exchange to the his custom built riser so no running around to hunt down anything (a first for me on a boat project of this size)...the cost was for the pair was a little less then the cost for one side with factory parts that at best last 11 years (this was my second time replacing them).Mike & Brian with Reliable Marine 562-965-6330 did the install and as always did an awesome job on the installation yesterday and it was under 4 hours for both engines, honestly the finish product below looks like it belongs vs. other pictures I have seen. Even better and they look great with awesome water flow and will self drain when we hook them up to my pss dripless shaft seals.Sea trail is next weekend, I have heard we should get an increase in RPM and better fuel economy...will let you know.

Let me know how the performance is. Mine were changed out to SS in 2003. I've no idea how long they should last.

      BigJim,

My SS risers were also installed in 03 and a small leak was discovered in the port riser during scheduled maintenance. When I took it in to get the leak fixed today at National Marine Exhaust, I was told that there was internal corrosion and that riser needed to be replaced. Scott said that the SS risers of the type that I have need to be inspected after about seven years.
