My shower drain in the head is looking particularly bad (corroded mainly). Is there any secret to removing and replacing? I am presuming there must be a large nut at the other end of the drain holding it to the base of the shower floor.
I have moved my shower sump from the origonal spot to right under the shower. It is a very high maintenance feature on a boat especially if your wife has long hair, not good. I also dont like any water in the bildge so its important to me that the sump works properly. I re-built the drain, basically went to the local hardware store and re-fitted some new components to that it doesn't leak like it used to.
When I moved the sump I needed to cut hole in the lower companion way so that I could access directly under the shower, now the water drops straight into the shower and I can maintain it easily due to new location.
