Hello Forum Members ....... Looking for some advice. Our 1984 Bayliner 3270, with twin crusader V6 engines, does not have raw water strainers after the seacocks to the raw water pump. I am looking for recommendations on which strainers would be best for proper flow (some say 40gpm is sufficient), cost affectiveness, and ease of access to the strainer basket for cleaning and winterizing. Many thanks for your input.

What color were you planning on "staining" the water?

Some suggest Perko Bronze Basket strainers are the way to go. I looked up the original Bayliner part numbner and it directs me to the new cross reference table; PART NUMBER 144741 STRAINER, BRZ WATER INTAKE 1.25. Anyone have an idea who makes this for Bayliner? Thanks again

Just an update .... going to pull the pin on Groco Raw Water Stainers as I found them well priced at Martin Marine. Question; My raw water supply hose has a 1" ID and I can either go with 3/4" NPT strainer size that will accept a 3/4" NPT x 1" hose barb tail piece or I can go with a 1" NPT strainer size that will accept a 1" NPT x 1" hose barb tail piece. To me it makes sense to go with the 1" Strainer size but funny that the 3/4" x 1" brass tail piece is listed as "full flow" while the 1" x1 " brass tail piece is called standard flow? The overall dimension of the strainers between the one with 3/4" vs. the 1" inlet/outlet sizes are minimal. Thanks again
