I have a 1986 32 Bayliner with the original Norcold AC/DC refrigerator. I noticed after pulling it out to work on the sink that when installed back the 120v works but the 12v does not. I do not recall any loose wires and the two small dc connectors are still intact. I know the unit is old but I wonder if others have had a similar issue and whether there is a quick fix (i.e. fuse etc) or should I be looking at a new one?

There should be a fuse on the DC unit. Check that out first. Failing that, these units are equiped with a DC module and are subject to failure. When they do, you need to replace the module. They are not cheap. When mine quit, I just wired the ac side to my inverter. That is a little less efficient, but it avoided a couple of hundred bucks for a new DC module. If pushed on this issue, I would be tempted to buy a newer, more efficient fridge, rather than replace the module, since it would still be an old, less efficient fridge.

      Bob,

That is good advice and if the DC unit is the problem I will be shopping for a new fridge.

It does sound like the AD/DC power supply that is integrated into the Nocold 'fridge has died. My Nocold DE-0061 also died.

The replacement I installed is an Isotherm CR187. It is a superior appliance w/ the all-important Danfoss compressor. This model also has a great forced air coil cooling system, that sucks air in on either side of the 'fridge door and expells the warm air out the top, concealed by the freezer door. It can be installed into a closed compartment, not requiring rear air flow.

Sweet looking fridge, that stainless looks all professional and stuff.

I hate the tiny fridge on my 3270.
