I have a 1990 3288 w/ the 351 engine package and Hurth transmission. This season after putting the boat in the water, I noticed my port engine vibrates the boat failry significantly in the range from 1000-1400 RPM. At idle and above 1500 RPM I do not feel any vibration. I do also notice a slight difference (more throttle required) in the amount of throttle needed to match engine RPM on starboard side. The prop is in great condition and I have chcked for seaweed on the prop but found nothing. The engine seems to be running fine otherwise. My ideas for this issue include shaft alignment (why it changed is beyond me), engine not running on all cyclinders, pump/alternator bearings (althrough everything seems ok), engine mounts. Any ideas on what is causing this or how to pinpoint the problem area? Thanks in advance.

The cheapest thing to try would be a new set of spark plugs. Sometimes a miss can feel like a vibration. Old gas seems to be hard on plugs.
The next thing to try would be to hold a pencil close to the prop shaft (barely touching it) behind the coupler while it is running. If there is vibration on the shaft it will mark only part of the shaft.
