The thick rubber gaskets under my flush mount rod holders are pretty much done. Anyone know if these are available or suggest a material that could be used to make my own? The originals are about 9mm (not quite 3/16") thick heavy rubber.

If they are Perko's like mine, I found the rubber gasket with the hinged cover at West Marine. if you want to make your own a piece of old inner tube should do it.

+1 UDII
I finally lost the covers due to use and UV deterioration but decided not to pull them out of the gunnel because they were set pretty good when installed. I just cut the excess rubber at the edge of the stainless tops. You could also put a nice bead of 4200 around the mounts if you too decide not to pull the flush mount. I doubt much water ever got in the mounts and if it did, it drained into the bilge anyway...
