    32xx, carryining tender outboard?-gctid388143

Getting ready to introduce the new (to me) West Marine 310 RIB tender (Nissan 5hp outboard) with the new (to me) boat (3270) and I'm curious where folks store/pack their outboards when they're not on the tender?

For convenience I store my 5hp on the cockpit floor on a towel and lifejacket.

But when i need to store it longer I keep it under the stairs in the Master.

May not be the best options, but thats what I do.

I keep mine on my dingy. I have a cover for the outboard and leave it on all summer while it is on my boat.

We always fitted it alongside the steps to the flybridge.

We now have a 8HP Yamaha. The bracket is different (home made)

I did something like this: http://www.bayliner32xx.com/DesktopD...dex=6&tabid=26 see the 2nd forum page, click on the "Motor Mount Ideas" thread. Some good photo there of how to store outboard out of the way.

How big of Dinghy and motor can you carry on the swim platform? And what method have you used to carry it?

I have a 10 foot Avon hard bottom with a 9.8 Tihatsu mounted on a Weaver-Leaver. Motor stays on the dinghy and rotates to stay verticle when I pull the dinghy up.

Thanks all - looks like most attach the o/b to the stbd riser of the bridge ladder. If any of you have detail pics of the mounting brackets, would be great. Not a huge deal to engineer, but I'd much rather copy

I mounted a short 2x6 on a heavy duty hinge on the swim platform. With the tender folded up it doesn't even show. When the tender is gone the hinge lets it lay flat. Not much of a tripping hazard.

I made this up with stainless and a couple of laminated pieces of plywood - covered with epoxy paint. I through bolted it via the new access plate.

we have a 3888 and its got a huge stainless steel swimstep.. the corner rail of it has a kicker mount attached to it..out of the way of everyone and we can put the 12ft zodiac on it too.. we had a spare kicker for a week on it and placed it along the flybridge ladder with padding on the prop area to prevent issues and chained and tied it in place due to high ocean swells
