    key for 3988-gctid385508

Where would we find a key for the salon door for a 1996, 3988?

    #2
First, go buy a 1996 3988.... just kidding

The key looks like a normal household key so any store should be able to cut one... or a locksmith.

    cheers, Gary

They are a Mobella Southco key blank, either 800 or 900 series and hard to find.

If you have a key with the number still readable you can order one or go to

a local SeaRay, Carver or Bayliner/Meridian dealer.

I found my exact number at Hutchinson's Searay in Alexandra Bay and bought all three they had.

You can also order the blanks from Southco and have them cut locally

The 800 series is the same as Harley Davidson, the 900 series is the reverse and harder to find.

Wow, small world. We were staying at the Riveredge in Alex Bay and I also found my door key at the Sea Ray dealership across the street. You do know there are only about 6 keys which fit all the boats?

The locks are of such poor quality that I purchased a new lock at Lowes and replaced the entire unit for $6.50.

I posted this thread a couple years ago. It allows you to identify what key you may need. Keep in mind the lock cassettes when you remove them have a number stamped on them that identifies the key needed. Also, Bomar/Pompanette no longer is offering them and I have not found another place that will but I keep hearing the Bayliner dealers are.
