    Accumulater Tank problems, 4788-gctid383582

Accumulater tank question: Trying to pump air in my accumuluater tank as the water pump is running constantly when water on. Using a small tire pump, but can not seem to force any air into tank. When depressing valve to see if any air comes out, tank would appear to be empty. Any ideas? Thanks

What is wrong with the water pump running constantly when a facet is open? My latest water pump in our 47 says do not use any accumulator tank. New pump runs all the time any water is being used. Pump just senses load and adjusts speed of pump to load. It would appear you either are not pumping any air from your small tire pump or your accumulator tank has an air leak somewhere. Will the pump - raise pressure in a bicycle tire? Over the years I have replaced my tire pump several times. Leaving it to live in the bilge has not been good for their life expectancy. My latest model is slightly larger from Harbor Freight and is most all plastic.

Thanks for quick response. Guess I'm used to it being there and pump not operating constantly, so trying to continue using it as was intended. Was able to get a little air into the tank, and did help slightly. Will keep working on it.

Those small accumulator tanks can not hold much water under pressure so after using a couple of cups, the pump has to run.

discovered that is I turned pump off and bleed off water, pressure is reduced enough to allow me to pump air into tank. Works much better now. Thanks.
