  • Oil sending unit problem-gctid379339

I have a 3288 with 150 hino's. My oil pressure gauge was flickering so I replaced the sending unit. That didn't work, so I cleaned all the terminals hoping that that would solve the problem. It didn't, so I am looking for assistance of what I would do next. Any help would be appreciated.

Upper or lower helm, or do both show the fluctuation?

I am getting fluctuations on both upper and lower gauges.

Tap in a mechanical gauge to see if the reading is actually electrical or mechanical in nature.

Another thought would be to check and verify the ground....

Disconnect the the offending gauges and jump the leads to the other gauge and see if the problem follows the gauge or the sending unit. If the other gauge fluctuates, then start tracing back to the sending unit. It could be a bad wire or ground.
