    does anybody have a reccomendation for a windlass replacement?

    The MUIR is full of salt and needs replacement

    Just warning you that you will need a jockey sized body and a sleeve lenght of ~40" to get it loose from deck.

      There is a lot of great info in the search menu for access to the windlass, if the motor is in the anchor locker, a small person is great, otherwise remove the face plywood between the anchor locker and fwd stateroom.

        I removed mine and had it rebuilt witan a two way powered up and down windlass.

        It is easy to remove....just cut a access hole in the rope locker on the deck.

        Later cover the hour with a round access hole cover.
