    4788 Boot Strip Waterline-gctid371695

I am planning on raising the Boot Stripe & Waterline on my 2000 4788. I get growth on the hull at the stern. The boat is not overloaded and the bilges are dry. I have an 8.5 KW generator and a total of 4 8D batteries under the cockpit. I carry a 10' Achilles Rib with a 15 HP 2 stroke Yamaha on the Bridge. The original boot stripe is below the engine exhaust.

    Anyone have a similar experience?

Since my 47 was painted the first time since new I have had black bottom paint to bottom of swim step and to top of gel coat black boot stripe. Looks a lot better that way. The old white stripe between top of factory paint and gel coat boot stripe was always dirty.

We move move the bottom paint up to the strip as well and about 4 inches below the swim step for better protection and looks much nice in the water that way

I agree the standard boot top is to low, we raised ours up to be in line with the exhaust nib in. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the responses--exactly what I had in mind.
