Guest repliedI have a roll of the original headliner material. The po of our 4550 aquired it from a friend who purchased it for his Bayliner and did not use it. I have used a small amount to make a cover over the davit bolt in the salon ceiling, matches perfect. Give me a call.

I removed all the bunny fuzz in the forward stateroom of my 3988 last year. I installed foam backed vinyl on the ceiling and hull sides.I ordered all my materials from Great Lake Skippers, they have a good inventory (or they did last year) of pleaded headliner material plus almost anything else for your boat.

Hey that FRP looks really good! I may consider that if nobody comes up with a good source for the headliner material. Seems much easier to install.
I hope I can do the FRP in the PH too since the ceiling curves alot more towards the sides. Guess I can break it up as it heads to the curved part, maybe one angled panel and then 3 or 4 panels in the middle.
Still like to try the headliner in the PH and maybe do the FRP in the salon.
Thanks boatwork and darby!

Guest repliedWhen I redid the headliner in my 36 ' Uniflite several years ago I also used cream colored FRP with teak trim - just like the stuff that's over my galley on the 45. I thought it would be easier to install and I could clean it every year without telltale avenging swirls.
When it's time to do my 45 will look into using the same FRP (fiberglass Reinforced Plstic) with teak trim.

When I replaced my headliner in the salon and port head I used a cream colored FRP 4' x 8' panels commonly used in a bathroom remodel, then trimed the seams with teak, photo enclosed.
It made the salon much brighter.

Headliner Material anyone???-gctid370372
Im looking to buy new headliner material for my 4550. Going to start with the PH since it looks easier and smaller than the salon.
I took down the front and side valences and studied how the headliner was installed and I think I can do it!
The original is just looking too old and with all the other updating on the boat, I think its time.
Does anyone know where to purchase this stuff? It looks "breathable" so i dont want to just purchase a vinyl for seating, or can I?
Does it really have the be breathable?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
