  • She is officially ours....-gctid342725

Well, as of today, she is officially ours. 1987 4588 on the TN River. Now to sell our Monk trawler! Pics of our new baby attached. We will be doing some refit work on her...getting rid of the terrible (to us) floral print in forward stateroom, busy cross hatch stuff in salon, install corian countertops, and give her mechanics some love and attention. I have owned 2 other boats since I first started pondering the 45/47 and enjoyed them both but this boat will really give us the MUCH needed increase in space to be able to spend most of our summer aboard this year. I just hope my wife never does the math on the # of boats we now own and the total linear feet we now own.

We sure love our 4588 and I am sure you are in for the same! When you do those counters consider the sink you might want. We used a standard Kitchen sink and a half, and it is a great to have the small sink for smaller loads, but the big sink when required, is a treat. Don't seem to miss the counter space yet, and having a cutting board that fits into the small sink works.

          Enjoy, steve

THanks all- we are looking forward to having her in the family. Last winter my dad (72), my son (9), and myself did a big TN River trip on our trawler with just the 3 of us. We are going to bring her up the river to our home marina in the same way...three generations together and just us (wife and daughter (almost 8) will stay home for this delivery trip since it is winter). It should be a fun and special trip for all 3 of us. My son is particularly excited- as he begged my wife to be able to come he told her, "Mom, we kind of have a tradition. Me, granddad, and dad always do a big trip together with just the 3 of us. I have to go with them to be there." Who can say no to that?!

Wow! She looks beautifull ! You can't beat the quality of construction, room, and style in Bayliner pilothouses for the $$$. We love ours Soooo-much. Dave

Congrats Woodsong, I've read many of your trawler upgrade posts so my guess is this Bay will get a Woodsong work over as well in one way or another.

I also want to express my condolences to you about your grandfather, sorry to read that he has passed.

I had a 1988 45 P/H for 6 yr and loved the boat. you will too. I only sold it to get a2000 4788. The raised P/H is so "ship like "you will feel like a real captain !
