This leg I have my son, his wife, and my granddaughter on board.

They really wanted to see Mexico, and learn about my retired life.

That is great - I did not think your cruising alone would last too long.

Really??? I came 2850 miles alone and was perfectly happy.

My sons family wanted an adventure and I let them come with me for this leg.

I met a friend who will be joining me hopefully in the future when I get to La Paz.

Honestly I like having a friend to maybe cruise with. Adventures are honestly more fun with a friend.

That said, my original plan of cruising alone is not a bad plan. It's not difficult at all handling the boat alone.

The reality is if you are single you have to come to terms with that and find happiness doing things alone. Thats what I did, and it worked for me for more years than I ever told anybody about here.

I do not know if others in my situation are the same, in that they are just not interested in going through the trouble to pair up again later in life. You have your dreams, and you have the things you have planned on doing, and you are happy ding them.

Then you meet someone that you are pulled to, and that new person becomes your friend to share your activities with.

Once again, I agree - finding like kind friends to cruise with can sometime be hard due to work schedules. Finding like kind friends to do all kinds of things is typically a great idea. I have found it easier when one or more have become mostly or completely retired.

Kevin @ mile 2850 you proved it can be done solo. That was the get me from A to B asap.
Since then I noticed you went in to cruise mode, enjoying the new scenery, meeting up with your friend, your family, relaxing more. You made it. Enjoy.
