    99 2855 privacy curtain-gctid632978

Does anybody know or have a source to the privacy curtain that encloses the rear master bunk area? I guess I could modify a shower curtain, but would prefer to go with OEM stuff.

    Thanks in advance

That is a very simple job for a sewing person. Just give them the measurements, order some hanger/track hardware from West Marine and get it done.

Hi, I'm Bob Cohen. I have a 97 2855 that I keep in the Chicago area on Lake Michigan. My boat sits in the water every season for 5 months of the year. Being the lake is fresh water there are no issues because of this. When I seen your location I was curious how a 2855 handles being in salt water. I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions I have. Does your boat stay in the water for long periods or is it stored between uses out of the water. What if any special care must be taken because of the salt water? Thanks in advance if you could answer my questions.

        Bob,

I had one in salt water. Between uses, it was dry racked about 30 feet from the water. Some use lifts at the dock. This method saves tons of wear these merc outdrives. They do NOT hold up docked in water for long. Leave one in a month and you'll see. I've included a photos so you can see it stored. ALWAYS store it bow high. That keeps the water out from under the fuel tank. I also flush the engine and drive after each use and wash it down. The photos show in the water, stored outside, and stored inside plus your engine room and equipment stay clean.

I beg to differ, my friend at the dock has a model 2855 from 1997 I think it is. It lies in salt water just like my 2006 model 242 for 7 months a year every year! No problems here. He has a Bravo and I have an alpha drive. Both drives are the originals the boat came with.
