Wiil West Marine Match Prices to Iboats for Online orders??-gctid356717
I was told that West Marine WILL match prices with an entity as long as that entity has an actual physical "Store". I don't know if IBoats does but I DID show the lady here in Tacoma's West Marine a comparison on my Iphone with Iboats and she didn't bother chrcking into it so I saved over $50 on a Jabsco water pump. It doesn't hurt to ask....
Usually they will it really depends on the.store though so you need to ask. Some managers are more liberal in their price matching than others. Generally yes ifI they have a physical store and it can be proven.
Frankly, I have stopped using WM unless I have a 'must have today' need. They have gone nuts on pricing. I use the web after much homework and try to stay clear of web sights that have no physical address (like 123 maine st any city) I've delt with Jamestown Distributors and for the most part they have treated me well. And by the way, I found that Lowes has a very good supply of SS stuff.

Call West Marine and ask. They probably will match even if there is no Physical store seeing the iboats is a major competitor. They matched prices with Jamestown distributors even though they have no physical presence.

Thanks for the info! Well i called my local WM store, I remember seeing the Turning point props there, they told me they sent them back due to no one buying them. iboats still have the best price for the one I want. WM is a joke!
Sometimes the WM store won't even match their own online pricing.
I wanted a GPS they had online for sale. I called the one I formerly went to, the person who answered just gave an abrupt NO and hung up.
I then called the one in the next town and was immediately told "maybe" what's the item # and I will check. He came back and said yes we can do that & yes we have it in stock.
He then explained further about online pricing , but if he could he would.
Like most I only go to WM for the gotta have it now stuff, but now it's the store in the next town.
Funny thing is that about 200 yds from the "attitude" WM is a marine store that has almost any real part you could want, Merc or VP and its run by a very nice family. They do charge list price for everything, but their clothing and shoe selection are a little lacking...
I have found West Marine to be fair in price matching. Plus sometimes I do not mind spending a little more to have it now rather than waiting for it to arrive. I split my business between the local marine store in Everett and the West Marine. I want to keep them in business so they are there when I need something. And I do not complain about paying the sales tax. In this state tax is what keeps everything operating. In reality I find myself buying less and less online. I do research stuff online but you really have to run across a great deal with shipping included and a guarantee and free return shipping on the product to make it worth it.
I have been getting my boat ready for the great loop trip, and west marine have been great . I go online and find the best price for what i am buying and west marine always matches the price. Just installed a garmin 4212 gps, and a garmin backup camera, and they matched hodge marine prices, which was 500.00 more expense. They also matched hodges marine prices on a lewmar bow and stern thruster package 1000.00 saving. They just need the companies name or web site to confirm the prices.
