How to remove the Port Starboard Windows from a 1985 2858 Command Bridge-gctid356637

    Hi all,

Can anyone help re the above.

The seals for both the Port & Starboard Slideing Windows have perished and need replacing but I cannot see how to remove the glass from the frames.

If anyone knows how to do this I would be most gratefull.

    Regards

If they are like most bayliners of that era, you will have to "pull" the seal out of the bottom and top, then the glass can likely be lifted out of the frame. If you can slide the window open, then pry up the bottom the seal from the open end of the window and pull on BOTH the window and the seal, hold the seal and push the window open again, pull on BOTH the window and the seal, keep repeating until you have the bottom seal removed. The top seal should now be easy to remove using the same procedure.

To install the new seals, you will have to reverse the process; with the window partially open, slide the seal over the top of the window and push on BOTH the window and seal while opening the window, partially close the window and repeat until the seal is fully seated. Repeat the process on the bottom seal.

    Hope this helps.

+1 on the above. I have the same boat and year, replaced all seals this way as well. It's a real pain but do-able.
