This is from their website. Remember, you get what you pay for. I would guess they are chinese knock-offs, good luck finding replacement parts, or service.
We are security integrators and have used quite a few P3 CCTV power supplies with good success but I can't speak about Goss. If Goss's quality is on par with P3, it would be worth further investigation.
If you never heard of them then I can guarantee you they are cheapies from china with a new skin. Unfortunately everyone seems to want in on this. All started years back with the famous Kipor.
The last six I've seen at Canadian Tire & Princess Auto. And have purchased two of them. The 950 and 1200. I've warn the 950 (2 stoke) out, it won't start without ether and the 1200 is hard to start.
We have larger Yamaha (2500W) and Honda (9000W) and they start easy every time. I had the chance to compare them recently with the 1200 for noise after a recent thread about these units being very loud.
The Yamaha is considerably quieter than the Chinese 1200 and about the same as the 950.
Others here will tell you the small handa's are very quiet.
Thanks guys....sort of what I thought.....but the fact that it was 4 stroke interest me. At $200 it could be a one season throw away!
I have a Yamaha 2800i and it is just too noisy for some places. I thought it might work to get a small 1000 watt unit strickly for charging my house batteries.
The Yamaha 2800i was a disappointment all around. It is noisier than it's specifications and can't handle the power surge to start the air conditioner (which I can start on a standard 15 amp A/C outlet). I guess I should have know better when I bought it. My experience is that the Japan stuff never meets it full spec.
I also didn't research the noise issue enough. Some manufactures measure at one metre and others at up to 7 metres. This is a huge difference!
I plan to go to a solar cell system when the pricing of solar cells comes down so the 1000w guiet generator is a stop gap......guess I will keep looking for a cheap used Honda.
