thanks larry. I assume no problems with the 1" line?
Guess I should have added a little more detail.....it's been in use a year with no issues.

The toilet is a Jabsco electric. The only issue I had was wire sizing....you should use #8 for the starting current of the toilet but #12 just gets by....anything smaller and it will stall now and then.

My manual flush compact head needed to be replaced, and I did so with Jabsco Quiet Flush Household size electric. It called for 1" line, but came with adapter for 1.5". The existing 1.5" was original, and the boat had an odor, but not really a sewage odor. I chose to replace with 1", and guess what, the odor is gone. I have not used it yet, but I have no worries about it's adequacy. As mentioned, an adapter is just another trap...

We went to 1" lines on our 2452 when we put in the Raritan Sea Era head.

    No problems.

I changed my lines to 1" last year when I replaced them. My electric toilet came with a reducer about a foot up stream from the toilet which in my mind was nothing but a S... collection point. By reducing the line size, hence the volume, it takes less water to flush the line clear.

    Head Discharge Lines-gctid354401

So I'm in the process of replacing both manual heads with electric units. I'm using ones from Masterflush. It seems that these macerator units will accept either a 1" or 1.5" discharge. I'd like to replace my 1.5" lines with 1", since I'm going to be doing the job anyway and it will make things easier, but I'm really positive its a smart move. I've called the manufacturers to see if they recommend one over the other...no preference. I've got a message in to Marine Sanitation in Seattle and I'm guessing they may have some input.

But as much as anything, I'm curious if anyone has any first hand experience with good or bad to say about the smaller discharge lines.

    Thanks in advance.
