I am looking at getting some stickers made up for my Bayliner 175 over the net as it is half the price than getting them locally, however I want to try and match the two colours on the other stickers already on the boat - blue and silver. Does anyone know where I can get the Pantone number for the colours for my 2004 model so the sticker company can match it.

My advice would be, as you can get one for halve the price the local shop wanted, remove the ones that still are on and order new ones for both sides. Other wise you may be very disappointed even when you get the numbers.

Sorry should have said this is an additional sticker - Boat Name - so ideally wanted to match the bayliner name and pinstripes that are already on the boat.

The lettering company should be able to lend you a Pantone book, If not try a local Printer. It's easy to match the colors from the book and read off the number. I've also had Clients go to their local DIY store and get a bunch of paint chip cards, match them to their project, then send them onto the Vinyl Letterer as a colour match. Vinyl for Signs only comes in a limited selection for each colour so it should be easy to come up with a match.

        Cheers,

        Dave

I live in a small regional place so not many sign writers around who would help. However your idea about getting some colour charts is excellent. I will do that and send them to the person I am using if no one comes up with the Pantone numbers for my model boat.

this will help go on the page to contact us and you can ask for it in an e-mail (I hope).

Otherwise the given advice about the paint colours is indeed excellent.

I'd recommend ordering a color chart from OraCal and then use that to match the vinyl to your colors.

You can purchase them at many places. Here's a place I deal with a lot: http://www.signwarehouse.com/VOR6411...OLORCHART.html

Thanks everyone, I will try the Customer Service link and drop them an email, if that doesn't work I will use the colour charts to match as suggested.

The nice thing about using the vinyl chip chart is you are choosing the best match. If you try to use Pantone numbers, your sign guy will be using his / her guess.

You may be able to borrow one from your local shop.
