    Port Engine Success Finally

Well we finally had success in getting the Port engine on our Carver running. First it was replace the raw water impeller, next we had to replace the thermostat, then the starter. thought we were done but no the coil died. Replaced it today and the engine fired right up. I need to vacuum the water out of the bilge and put the cover back over the resistor. The only problem left is the prop shaft wants to rotate in neutral but maybe after it's been run in the water for a while it will straighten up other wise I'll be learning about Velvet Drive transmissions this winter. The engine tried to kick my ass but it was dealing with Grampa Jim. The story behind that name is my Grandson thinks that I can fix anything. Jim

I have a well earned shirt that says “Dads know a lot but Grandpas know everything”. Of course grandma disagrees, but at least I have the grandkids fooled.
