    Newbie needs some help-gctid350944

    Hello all,

    I'm new member to the forum as well as a new member of the boating community. I grew up boating with my grandfather and uncles, but once I started high school, life became too busy for boating. Fast forward nearly 30 years and here I am restarting my boating life, trying to give to my daughters the fun and excitement that I had as a kid on the water. So, my wife has been hounding me for a travel trailer, I decided to go and buy a boat. I purchased a 23ft 1986 Ciera. It's in great condition for a boat that's almost 30 years old. There are a couple of things I'm looking for; first, what model do I have exactly? The HIN is BLBB63SBB686. Second, I bought this with all the canvas but no instruction sheet on how to install the canvas. To make it a bit more difficult, it looks like the main piece over the cockpit was remade. Does anyone know how the poles go together to get the canvas on securely? I want to have it covered up for the remainder of the winter here in the Pacific Northwest. The previous owner had it in covered moorage.

      Hey Madviking,

      I have a canvas shop, and can certainly sort out your canvas problems.

      You might need to send me some pics to help, but basically, the main frame (the one that the other frames hang off of) leans aft, the secondary, and mid frame extend foreward from the main, and all the curtains zip to the main canvas top ( probably a bimini style).I hope this helps, otherwise drop me a line at [email protected]

      By the way, where abouts in the Pacific NW are you?

      best regards,

      Chris

        Here's a picture of the boat from the side;

        I hope this helps out. It's a Ciera with a small galley, enclosed head and enough cabin space to sleep 4 easily. The other members' Ciera was a bowrider.

        Chris, as for the canvas, I hope the picture helps a bit. If not, I'll drop you a line with some pictures. As for the PacNW, I'm from Bellingham, WA, but now live in Ferndale, WA.

        Thanks.
