    USCG Documentation change (?)

I'm a bit wary of this because of the way some of the so called "Documentation Services" present things, however, if true, I'm in next year. I already renewed for 2019.

I often get spam that looks like the USCG and they want a fee for documentation.
Always go to a USCG site to re-new.

I'm with you on the spam and that's why I said I'm a bit wary. I would have called the center for confirmation but, they may be shut down for the holiday or the government shutdown. The interesting thing here is I went to the USCG website and got the links.

IIRC the USGC Documentation renewel fee is $26.00. If you receive requests for payments for more than that you have probably received a phishing letter form a private company that will file your application and pay your $26.00 fee for their small fee of only $50 bucks!

I realy like the 5 year documentation renewal!

Like others i have recieved several very official looking notices from a marine documentation service, offering to charge me a nominal fee for doing what takes me just a few minutes.

          Capitalisim at it’s best.

I did the whole thing on line this year, for the first time. Real deal.
