    Moving on.

After 10 years, 7 months and now 8 days I am leaving my current employer. We are heading to the east coast. The timing could not be better as Ash will begin high school in the fall and Syd middle school. Our destination is the lower Chesapeake area. If we have members in that area I would love/appreciate some feedback of the area. Good areas to live in. Boating. Other activities. Vic and the kids will stay in Seattle until the school year is completed.

I've been to the Del-Mar-Va peninsula area a number of times, nice place to visit for sure. Love Ocean City Md and Rehoboth Beach Delaware.

Phil when you say lower part of the Bay do you mean in Va or MD? I’m in the upper part of the Bay and it has lots of great boating and place both on the water or inland.

Like Phil wrote, what do you mean by "lower part of the Bay"? Virginia - ie Norfolk to Potomac River? Or more towards Solomon's Island? I'm in the Middle Bay on the Western Shore near Annaplois opposite Tilghman Island. You will love boating on the Bay! Lots of great places as Phil said...

Nice, welcome to the "right" coast!! My son is in the Navy and has lived (most of the time . . ) in the Virginia Beach area - almost 20 yrs now. You don't want to have to use the tunnel under the Bay every day though so that area would be "out" for me and Williamsburg is just North of the Hampton Roads area so I'd stay away from there too. Guess it depends on how far you want to drive every day for work . . . there's an awful lot of inlets and bays and housing all over the place, plus I don't know the area THAT well to offer suggestions. . . . . but GOOD LUCK!! Hope it all works out for the best and your tires hold up for the trip.

Our son lived in NewPort News....Alot of very nice homes in the area...All of which have HOA's. Traffic on I64 is a bear during the rush. Try to avoid crossing the using the Tunnels, The bridges are easier.....If your working in the Hampton area, by all means look on that side of the river, as I said New Port News is nice. Use Google Earth to get a overhead view/lay of the land.

The school we are leaning toward is located in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. I tend to leave early for the office so I can hit the gym first so I am hoping that I will miss the AM traffic. First week of April we will be in the area and will get to see the lay of the land first hand. Since we live in the 4th worst congestion in America I am hoping/assuming this traffic will be a nice change of pace...pun intended.
