First outing of the season, and everything went fine, forward, reverse, did full throttle, cruise, manuever, exercised the trimtabs, and tilt, check for cooling leaks, and other leaks, smoke etc. Then as we're coming into dock, I shift into reverse,...... hmm no reverse, hmmmm no neutral either!
Spun wheel hard over, and cut the engine. Only going 3 kts or so, but trying to rope a pilling and tie off a cleat while sliding down the bridge ladder and screaming move move move, all at the same time was thrilling! No harm done, manage to tie her back in place. Cotter pin fell out of shift linkage under the cover. Must have forgotten to bend it over when I replaced the shift cable. Remember "Always check everything 3 times!!!" _^_
