This takes me back. Way back.:coo- When I was a teenager we moved to Gibraltar Michigan. I wanted my own pocket money so I got myself a Detroit Free Press paper route. I had he route from 1964 thru 1967. One of my customers was a, I would guess middle aged guy. Like some of my customers he liked to talk so we became friends over time.

One day when I was out collecting for the week he was out in his garage and he called me back so he could pay me. He, like this gentleman was building himself a boat from scratch. His plan was when the boat was done he would retire, sell the home and sail the 7 seas. By 1967 he was almost done so one day he invited me aboard to see his yacht. While it was not as big as the one in the video, his was a 30 footer it was every bit as nice. It was a gorgeous boat a single mast vessel. The interior was all wood as was the boat. I was impressed to say the least that I got to take a personal tour.

One thing I asked was how do you plan to get it out of the garage since it was larger than the opening. Simple he said, I will remove the front of the building and pull her out.

I graduated that june and quit my paper route to go and get a job. I worked for a few months prior to starting college. In mid 68 I saw the for sale sign in front of his house. He sold the house and was off on his adventures. I never heard from him again but I hope he was able to live his lifelong dream just like I hope this Dr. gets to do.

Thanks for sharng, brought back memories.
