    Extra Wire Perhaps?-gctid825622

Pulled the flame arrestor today, and noticed this black (ground probably) wire with spade connector just lying around. Spare perhaps, or does someone know what it is supposed to be plugged into? I don't see anything else around the area with a female connector of the type. Thoughts?

    TIA

It is the ground wire for your choke.

Yep, should plug into the electric choke somewhere near the other wire

Could it be the four barrel carbs use the spade gnd wire? Because there is a ground wire on the choke already - one using an eye lug attached to the screw top right. Hasn't ever affected the running - choke seems to work well, Was just curious - extra parts and all that make one go Hmmmmmmmmm.....

        Thanks guys for the feedback.

some chokes are grounded internally thru the the throttle body, but not all of them. maybe the choke was replaced at some point and that is for the old two wire set up... if you dont have another spade terminal on the choke cover and the choke is working fine as it is, you dont need to worry about the wire anymore.
