So I struggled for weeks to find out why my USB charger was not working even though it was getting power to the unit. it just wasn't lighting up. I switched the 10AMP fuse which was in good condition out for a 5 AMP fuse and now it's working? Any ideas on why that is?

DId you swap the 10 back in?
You may have had a touch of corrosion on the terminals, When You pulled it it scraped it clean.
