Anyone know what the transom material (foam, wood, etc.) is on an 1999 Trophy?

Also, I have a few below the water line small screw holes from an old transducer and cabling. What's a good way to seal them?

I know that there is wood in the main core. Poke a couple of the improperly sealed holes in your transom and see if any water leaks out. It may take a few minutes. If water does start coming out in drops, do not seal it in. You'll need to determine how high up the water has migrated. Drilling small 1/2" deep holes from the INSIDE will determine the extent of the travel. If the outside holes are dry, clean them out with a drill bit and then fill them with 3M 5500 or equal

Bob - Thanks for the tip for filling the screw holes.

Can you offer any advice on the 2 "thru hulls" towards the top of the transom. Mine have dark brown water weeping from underneath them on the outside of the transom. They look like a brass or bronze tube with a tiny lip on both ends. The parts diagram (attached) says they have a threaded cap, but I sure don't see anything like that. Mine look like the lip was peened over and I don't see any way to replace them. They're about 1" in diameter and the thickness of the transom (about 3").

You have the outboard version of this boat. Mine is the I/O. I'm not familiar with your transom but I believe that those 2 through hulls are to drain water from the outboard well before it gets too high. Discoloured water seeping from the underside of them would indicate that you have water in your transom. I'm wondering if the originals were replaced by a p.o., Ball peaning them in without proper sealant, could account for the water entry. I might suggest gently grinding off the easiest surface flange that you can access, removing the through hull, and seeing what you've got.
