    Propeller Size and pitch-gctid824231

    Hi everyone,

I'm new on here so this is my first post. I own a 1987 Bayliner ciera 2555. It has a 5.7l v8 Mercruiser engine and a alpha one generation 2 sterndrive, I managed to damage the propeller the other day and my question is does anyone know the size and pitch of the prop??

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

It's usually stamped on the prop. You can also call bl with your hin and they can tell you what prop it came with.

Welcome to BOC! Please take a moment and fill out your signature block so we know where you are and what boat you have. That way it will show up on each of your posts and we won't have to go hunting through your previous posts to best assist you.

As Doug said, it is usually stamped on the center of the prop between the blades.

It could also be stamped on the core under the nut like this.

Just a couple of little points:

        1) Did the prop you damaged give you proper performance? You didn't say.

        2) If it did give you good performance then ONLY use the stampings to reproduce it. The PO may have spent ages changing props to get the right performance. A boat's stock prop isn't always the best for the conditions I.e. weight of the boat, how it is used, speeds/work you want to do, normal sea conditions ad-infinitum.
