any year 2000+ Trophy 2352 owners - have you repowered?-gctid823155

Hi, I have a 2005 Trophy 2352, it has been re powered with a 350 MPI (300HP) Mercruiser. Keeping the Alpha 1 leg, the gearing was changed from 1.62 to 1.47.

Even though I have picked up 50HP, I can seem to find a prop to match the new 300HP, new gearing and this boat to give performance equivalent to the 250HP and 1.62 gearing.

Keen to see if anyone has re powered their Trophy.

    Regards Adam

Slightly different boat be close to weight I've repowered 357 reman 275hp alpha one leg used to run a 4 blade didn't quite seam right so went back to 3 blade but max diameter hole shot improved under 6secs on plane wot 42 knots cruising 3000rpm 21-23knots depending on wind.

      Thanks Daniel

What gear box ratio do you have? What pitch and diameter prop are you running? What RPM's you getting?

      Cheers Adam

Will be at boat tomorrow will get pitch / size etc off prop. The guy who sold it to me told me stern heavy boats benefit from larger diameter props and 3 blade have less drag over 4blade that changes with weight ie)a 15-18 foot boat would get more benefit from a 4blade prop. Wot 4700rpm 42knots cruising 2800-3000 rpm 20-23knots I also have a whale tail which I lot of people seam to hate which gets me on plane 14.5-15knots.

          I have a 1997 2352...its not a 2000+ .... I have recently repowered...but mine is a measly non-vortec 5.7 with 2 barrel carb

          I have the 1.47 alpha and run a 15 x 13 prop 3 blade

          at 3400 rpm I get 20 knots

hope this helps some what... cheers

            Got to try a few props over the last few weeks. A 14 x 17 4 blade elite spitfire, 15 3/4 x 15 Mirage Plus and 15 x 15 Enertia.

The best by a long way was the enertia. Cruise at 3400 rpm was 27 knots burning 10 gph. WOT was 38 knots.

            Hole shot is excellent.

            Very happy with new setup.

A wee bit off topic but 300 hp is pushing the maximum for the Alpha 1. That is the rated maximum hp for the Alpha1. I wouldn't push it too hard.
