  • Upgrading stereo 2001 1950 Capri CL-gctid819417

So it's got a newer JVC with USB and Bluetooth but it's in red and impossible to see during the day. I want BT to stream my iPhone for sure, don't even need CD. Also need to upgrade the stock speakers, without breaking the bank, what options are out there? I was looking on amazon. Want blue LCD to match my boat.

Not looking to be the loudest, just an upgrade for better audio at WOT and such.

I need a set of speaker too, my stock ones are cracking and popping and the grill is cracked. I assume they're 6.5", but I'll measure later. Amazon has a ton of Pyle speakers with mixed reviews but super affordable. I guess I'm just thinking a new head unit, small amp and a pair of speakers at or around $200 total. Just wondering what others have in their boats.

        Following this thread -

I just purchased a 2001 Bayliner Capri, head unit it stock with a tape deck. Has anyone hooked up Siruis XM to their boat? I see the Sony MEX-XB100BT is Sirius enabled. Also looking at new speakers. Head unit seems like an easy swap - very easy to access. I have never messed with speakers before. Thanks!

I put an Alpine Mechless with bluetooth in my 99 1850. Has worked like a charm, BT connects easily and people can pass phone around while driving to change songs without an issue. Mechless units are shallow and easy to install.

Anyone know what size speakers? 5.25" or 6.5"? I'd rather not modify or try to enlarge the holes unless it's a huge difference in sound.

So these are the stock speakers I assume. 40w each. Ugly, need new. The holes are like 4" across though. Will a 5.25" speaker even work? That's the diameter of the outside of the speaker. The radio is ok, but I want new so I can connect my iPhone to it. What do you guys think of Pyle? I was partial to kenwood too.

These 2 name brand products will drastically improve and achieve your goal. Next, you will want a second battery and battery switch,
