    Boat (34)Car(34) Wash-gctid819097

Just caught this on the news today. First of it's kinda in North America, located in Campbell River, Vancouver Island. If he gets set up in Victoria, i would definitely give it a go!

A new business turning heads in Campbell River says its “car wash-style vessel hull cleaner” is the first of its kind in North America.

Had seen a very similar set up fitted on a barge out here in the Northeast about 12 years back. The EPA and other local regulators shut them down within 3 months or so.

Hope they do better where they are as it can really work well.

Looks good for smaller boats and boats with outboard drives, but I would be concerned about those polypropylene bristles breaking off and get caught in a cutlass bearing or intake. Maybe they don't go back as far as the shafts/props when cleaning!

When I read your headline, I really thought is was a drive through car wash that did the top sides, now that I could get into....

Looks like an excellent idea. I wonder if he can do boats with sloughing paint? I spoke to a diver at my marina the other day and he said he is not allowed to.
