Hello Everyone,
My lovely bride and I purchased a used 1992 Bayliner Trophy 21' Alaska Bulkhead with the Mercruiser 6 cylinder engine (4.3 litre I think) as our first boat and now I'm looking forward to learning more about it. I found your wonderful forum and am hoping to learn more about my boat and share my experiences with others. The boat is very dirty and has a terrible case of oxidation on the gel-coat but mechanically and structurally it checked out just fine when I bought it. We live just an hour or so north of Seattle so we're hoping to have something to take on short day trips and maybe the occasional overnight.
I'm sure I'll have many more, but I'm looking for answers to a few questions as I get started on my project:
1. How can I confirm what model boat I have? I think it's a 2159 judging by internet pictures, but not sure.
2. Is there anyplace online to download a manual for the boat or engine?
3. Recommendations for cutting compound for very heavy oxidation and maintenance products in general for that matter.
Thanks everyone, I look forward to being part of this community.
Cheers,
Mark
