2858/288 What height of Weaver Snap Davits are you using for an inflatable?-gctid816936

I have a 9' RIB and wanted to see if I need the raised snap davits 1", 2", 3" or 4" or just the standard ones off the swim step. Does anyone have these on their boat?

I have them on my carver and they are at standard height as shown. I haven't measured but I don't think my platform is any higher than my l

3055 was. I rigged a block and tackle around my radar arch and could easily hoist the dinghy up with a 15 horse on it. The only thing that sucks is you loose your swim platform and generally have to straddle the gunwhale to get on/off the boat. For long distance runs where you need a dinghy though, it's a good set up.

OK, full of fuel my swim step is about 4 inches off the water. I think I have plenty of room to walk behind the transom and use one stand-off, it must be 2 feet or more.

I originally had shorter Weaver davits but replaced those with the 4" davits. The 2858 swimplatform is low to the water and my 10' dinghy would keep smacked by the wake. I don't have that problem with the taller davits.

I'm not sure how similar our transom heights are, but I have the standard ones and they are the perfect height.
