Water in cuddy of 1802 Bayliner Cuddy year 2000 walk about-gctid812644

We have purchased our first boat, and have found that our cuddy is retaining water when washing down boat after being out on the water, or after a serious all day rain. We are stumped, have bailed out greater that 100 gallons of water, we have noticed that there is a 1" drain but when reaching in it has a plug, no other outlets for water to drain to the motor bildge. Does anyone have Ideas or does anyone know how to obtain the schematics of the hull of boat?

Wow, if you have that much water in the cuddy after a wash down, or heavy rain, you shouldn't have any problem finding the source. Put someone in the cuddy during the washdown and wait for them to scream!

You should fill out the particulars of your boat so we can help you further.

Assuming that your have an I/0, water can flow from the engine compartment forward to the cuddy and vice versa. There is no schematic showing this but there are small passageways allowing this to happen. You still should not have that volume of water unless you have a major leak somewhere. I'd source the leak and repair it before you put your boat back in the water.

I had a 2000 1802 CapriCuddy O/B.... There should be no obstruction at all in your drains to the bilge. Check the gasket around the cuddy hatch. You also check the gasket for the windshield. That all being said....lift the storage locker hatch in the floor and clear that drain back to the bilge......Pictures!!!!

Eureka!!!!! Hubby and I watered down front of boat, while I was in cuddy. The leak is coming from window strip, Windows need resealing, but until that gets done, used the rubberized leak fix tape rewatered it down, and no water in cuddy. Don't know where to unplug drain, in pic attached there is small holes on each side of center drain.

I have found the windows have to drain, and realized that's customary. The black round disc that was lodged in drain to bilge WAS plugged. So now the cuddy is dry and we are perfectly happy.

Thanks , we did as you said and it is the sliding strip that is cosmetically covering screws etc on placing window on fiberglass

Looking at the picture in your avatar..It looks like you have a 1802 Trophy...Great Boat! Completely different than my Capri Cuddy. You should still not have any obstructions in your drain all the way back to the bilge.

We found the issue, used a long slender hose placed it from cuddy drain and fished it down to bilge last night, came to boat this morning and found the culprit floating in bilge, since I can't attach the picture it was a perfectly sized plastic disc and Cuddy is dry. PTL

You are correct 1802 Trophy Bayliner, and the drain is unplugged and draining well.

I ran a snake down the cabin drain and it never came out the other end in the Bilge.
