New member hello. Element e18 trolling motor advice wanted.-gctid812084

    Hello everyone!

New here and have an element e18 coming. Not my first boat but fit my needs and price range well.

I like to fish inland Michigan lakes and looking for trolling motor advice and other setups.

I tried searching but on phone for now and found limited info.

Dealer rep recommended 60inch shaft which I would think is very long. I don't want the motor head sticking 2 feet above the bow if it's not necessary.

I have very good fabrication skills so designing an aluminum front plate is not an issue.

I also have my eye on a humminbird helix 5 DI.

I'm also eventually looking for some instruments for the 115 mercury for temp and tach.

And any other little mods that make fishing better on this particular boat. I have a seat and swivel pedestal that will be going up front on the filler plates once I reinforce and join them.

Thanks for any info and tips! Enjoy your weekend!
