    New boat - update-gctid811775

    Hi guys,

I have not been on so much lately because i have have been working hard on a few boat related things , firstly i started with de-winterizing my Bayliner 242 ..service,antifouling etc . Then, 6 weeks ago i stumbled upon another boat which caught my fancy. it was a french boat from a small factory whose name it seems is not so known outside the UK and france , i have always wanted a boat with a diesel engine and this one has had only 320 hrs on the clock since 2010 because the elderly owner became frail.

I bought the boat from him and have been busy installing instruments and personal effects on it virtually every evening afterwork at the marina .

the boat is now in water and i am well pleased with the results. i am close to getting to the final result.

I still own my Bayliner 242 but i am considering selling it as i do not seem to need it any longer plus it do not want to continue paying for 2 berth spaces at the dock. This is a hard decision to take of course as i love the 242 very dearly but i have not touched it since i got the new boat 6 weeks ago.

Even if i decide to sell the Bayliner, i still intend to lurk round the forums as there is a mountain of useful information .

I doubt if many are familiar with it but its an Ocqueteau 8.15 with a 200hp nanni diesel (toyota landcruiser) engine with a straight shaft.

Sounds like it's a matter of "ripping off the band aid", you know what has to be done. Congrats one the new boat, she's a beauty.

Yes you are correct. I have listed the 242 for sale and there is a potential buyer already coming to inspect it on Tuesday.

25 knots WOT , 18 knots at economy cruise speed
