    No throttle only button-gctid810601

I'm new to boating and just had a question regarding the throttle on my boat. I have a 1999 1850 LS and i have noticed that my boat does not have a throttle only button for starting it. I haven't really had a problem with starting it, takes a few turns with the key when it is cold but usually fires up after a couple of minutes. Is the throttle only button a necessity, or is it there just to make the boat starting process a little easier. I imagine starting my boat would be easier if I had the Throttle button, but I wanna make sure I'm not doing any damage to the engine by not having one. Any insight into this would be appreciated.

Did you try pushing in in the middle at the round part of the throttle handle? Should be pull up with fingers to engage throttle, then thumb button to lift and lower the outdrive, then trailer button (to lift outdrive all the way up?, the round button that doesn't really look like it is a button where the handle connects (try pushing it in) this should allow you to engage throttle while staying in neutral.
